SOCIAL SECURITY WORKSHOPS - Series of workshops to help people with disabilities apply for Social Security Disability or Supplemental Security Income benefits and/or appeal a rejected SSD or SSI Claim. Next Workshops are Tuesday 04/26, Tuesday 05/10, Tuesday 05/24, Tuesday 06/28, Tuesday 07/05, and Tuesday 07/19- all from 9-12 at SWCI. Pre-Registration is required. GAME NIGHT -Wednesday April 20th from 5 to 7 P.M. at Durango Joes, located at 732 E. College Drive. There will be fun and games for all. Management has requested that we do not park in the Durango Joes parking lot. We are planning on scheduling this get together every month, so spread the word.
WELLNESS COMMITTEE - Next meeting on Tuesday 05/03 at 3:00 at SWCI to develop workgroup to find wellness opportunities for people with disabilities (and their allies and families!). Anything from developing organized classes, to offering free samples of services and products, to arranging for social events and get-togethers. If we work hard, we may only need to meet quarterly! SWCI BOARD OF DIRECTORS meets the 3rd Thurs of every month at 3:00 at the Commons Building on Camino del Rio. You are welcome to attend, and you're also welcome to join a committee!
PEER ADVOCACY TRAINING - Is your voice being heard? Do you want to assist others to be a part of their community? Training to be a peer advocate begins on Thursday 04/28, and will continue every Thursday, 9:00 - 12:00 noon at the Center, for 7 weeks. For more information call Martha at 259-1672
